Using a special adhesive, your dentist will position and fasten the new crown to the tooth. This part of the procedure will bring everything together. The crown will only be cemented when you and the dentist agree on the fit. Remember that once this is done, some changes, such as various shape modifications or colors cannot be made.

What to Do Next?

You will need to take some precautions with your new crown. The dentist will go over a few instructions with you. For example, you may need to avoid eating sticky or hard food until the crown has enough time to cure. You will likely experience some numbness for a couple of days. After the numbness has disappeared, you can begin testing the bite of your crown. If it does not feel right, you will need to contact your dentist immediately.

Take Time to Adjust

You may go through a period of adjustment. However, if the procedure is done correctly, your new crown will begin to feel like a normal tooth in terms of its function and appearance.
